Chapter room
The chapter room, which is adjacent to the cloister, is an important place of monastic life. In this room, all the monks forming the community met every morning. À chapter of the Rule of Saint Benedict was read and commented (hence the name of the room) before the daily work was distributed among the monks. This room was also used to share news of other abbeys, elect abbots, and publicly confess mistakes.
Although well preserved, this room was shortened by one ark at the time of the monks, which explains the presence today of pillars engaged in the outside wall.
